Content Update

September 10th, 2007

I’ve started college now, and obviously have more work to do than I did over the summer holiday. I (hopefully) won’t follow my usual trend of no updates for long periods of time, and will continue to work on the content ideas that I have right now, and mainly the ones that are needing completion. A few new Japanese lessons should be up within the next few weeks, and I’ll be trying to make some more progress with my FFXI blog.

I’ll post up an update when I add something.

New Content Ideas

August 4th, 2007

I’ve added some of my content ideas to the “Content” page. I’ve added information and detailed status information for the projects that I’m working on.

The two ‘finalised’ ideas that I’ve got so far are a FINAL FANTASY XI blog, for my character Akiyama, and a Japanese Language Learning section on this website. Both of these are still currently in the planning stages, but I’ll be working on them now that I’ve sorted out the content and theme currently on the site.

Additions: Content

August 4th, 2007

I’ve put the pages about me and the site back up with some revisions. You can find them under “Akiyama” and “Site” at the top of the page.

I’ll most likely add/modify them soon, as they are still quite dated.

I’ve added to the links page with a small list, I’ll update it as I come across any more.

I’ve also added numerous pages under the “Akiyama” page to go with the content on it, mostly lists of odd things like my Anime, Manga, and Game collections.

New Theme

August 4th, 2007

I’ve just finished and tested my new theme, Grayscale. It’s a little boring, I know, but I did say it would be simple. I’ll most likely keep adding to it and might even end up adding colour anyway. Well, I just wanted a starter for replacing Typography and something I can work with as well as new content. Hopefully making this new content should help me find any errors in the theme and fix them up, or just find things that don’t work very well and modify them.

Well, that’s the new theme. Working on the content now. I’ll update again once I have some finalised ideas of what content I’m planning on.

Note: I’ve only really tested the site on Mozilla Firefox. I’ve taken a look at it on Internet Explorer, and seen a few minor changes. I most likely won’t bother to test the site in IE after today, so if you do spot any errors whilst using IE, then there is a simple way to fix all of those problems (probably for a lot of other websites with the same problems too), and that’d be to download Mozilla Firefox.

New Stuff on the way.

August 3rd, 2007

Hey, this is just a small notice to say that I’m working on a design for the new theme, and I’m thinking up of some new content that I can work on too. Hopefully this stuff should start appearing around the middle of August, but I can’t promise any exact dates.

I have some ideas on the new theme sorted, and will be working on that straight away. It’ll be another simple looking design, but it’ll be easy to navigate around and should hopefully work for the site. I can keep adding to it once it’s finished anyway.

I have some new content ideas, but most are just rough ideas at the moment, and I currently don’t have any content started on them. I’ll start planning these soon once I’ve got a good start on the new theme. I also want to try get back onto plans which I’ve had for a long time to having a few separate sub-domains, like a FINAL FANTASY XI blog, and a few other things that might come up involving some friends.

I’ll update on the progress, and if any ideas come to be finalised or I think of any more.

About that new layout…

July 12th, 2007

Well, I’ve been looking over my original ideas for a new layout. I really want to start making my own layouts again, before I got too lazy and started downloading some that I liked and used those instead.. But, I can’t get any good ideas anymore. Not that the ones I had long ago were any good anyway, just nothing that I feel would work comes up anymore. I had an idea all mapped out for a simple minimalistic design, to get back into it. But now I’m not so sure with what I have. I’m not really sure what I’d like.. there are little bits that I’ve never done before and would like to include in a layout, but they’re mainly just small things that can be added to most layouts.

I’m going to come up with some more ideas, look around to get some inspiration. Once I’ve made something half-decent, I’ll post a preview. Until then, I guess it’s staying as Typography.

Do this, do that.

May 25th, 2007

I can’t stand getting woken up at 8:30 in the morning when I don’t need to, and I don’t care if I’m on study leave either. I can’t revise well if I’m too tired, so waking me up early to start revising isn’t going to work. I’m tired, feeling a little ill, annoyed, and a little upset. I want to rest, I want to stop and think. I don’t want to get bugged all day because I’m not motivated to do anything.

Three more weeks. Oh, the joy.

Exams and stuff..

May 21st, 2007

Well, with exams coming up in the next few weeks, I’ll be pretty busy. Not that I update often, having my last entry in January (whoops..). After my exam period (which is until 15th June), I’ll be updating the layout with something I had been working on a bit ago, but never got a chance to make it all after planning due to school work, and I’ll try think of some new content. I think I’m most likely going to end up having some sort of FFXI blog on here, and maybe something else if I can think of anything I’ll be able to do.

Anyway, after the exams, I’ll have a large period of time where I can do pretty much anything I haven’t had time to do for the past two years. So I’ll be updating more often (not exactly a promise, though), and will have more to talk about! Since I’ll be working on completing various games (namely ‘Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess’, ‘Final Fantasy XII’, ‘Final Fantasy III’, and some other Wii games plus some new ones I’ll be getting when they come out in June) , playing FFXI, and many other things that I’ve left for so long. So, expect more after June 15th!

VOICES

January 24th, 2007

Got my copy of the ‘VOICES - music from Final Fantasy’ DVD today. Only watched it on my computer so far, but it looks well worth it. With 16 well played tracks of classic Final Fantasy tunes, and performances from RIKKI (”Suteki da ne” [FFX]), Angela Aki (”Eyes on Me” [FFVIII] and “Kiss me Good-Bye” [FFXII]), Emiko Shiratori (”Melodies of Life” [FFIX]), and Izumi Masuda (”Distant Worlds” [FFXI]). There is also an small acapella performance by the Mogleys, which is rather shocking at first, but is very funny. And to finish it all off, The Black Mages perform an awesome Advent Children version of One-Winged Angel from FFVII, twice!

Track Listing

  1. Tuning and Prelude
  2. Liberi Fatali from Final Fantasy VIII
  3. Fisherman’s Horizon from Final Fantasy VIII
  4. Song of Prayer from Final Fantasy X
  5. Suteki da ne (RIKKI) from Final Fantasy X
  6. Final Fantasy Doo-wop Medley (Mogleys)
  7. Melodies of Life (Emiko Shiratori) from Final Fantasy IX
  8. “Final Fantasy”
  9. Primavista Gakudan from Final Fantasy IX
  10. The Promised Land from Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children
  11. Distant Worlds (Izumi Masuda) from Final Fantasy XI
  12. Eyes on Me (Angela Aki) from Final Fantasy VIII
  13. Kiss me Good-Bye (Angela Aki) from Final Fantasy VIII
  14. “Maria and Draco” Opera from Final Fantasy VI
  15. Brass de Chocobo
  16. One-Winged Angel (The Black Mages) from Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children (encore x2)

If you are a Final Fantasy music fan, then I’d reccommend grabbing this DVD. The tracks played are a great selection of Final Fantasy tunes, and the performances from the singers, and Angela Aki’s version of “Eyes on Me” (originally sung by Faye Wong) are a must have. I picked up mine from Amazon Japan, but there seem to be plenty of sites that sell and import it around the world.

Nevermind

January 18th, 2007

Nevermind about all that FFXI stuff, I don’t have the time, motivation, or knowledge to do such to be perfectly honest. I’ll think of something to fit into this boring little webspace, and might just post it within the next few months or so..
