Planned additions: FFXI

December 22nd, 2006

I’ve added the FFXI page, and I’ll be working on the content during the next few weeks. At first, I’ll only be putting together some basic guides more for beginners to understand the various parts of Final Fantasy XI, but some of them might be helpful for more intermediate players.

Anyway, this is what I’ve got planned so far:

  • Menu Guide - A guide to help navigate the menu, and understand what everything does in it. (Very basic)
  • Text Commands - A guide to the various text commands in the game, what they are, and what they do. (Basic)
  • Jobs Guide - A basic description of the role of the different jobs, with some stuff on forming parties, and party formation. (Basic)
  • Terms - A basic run through of some frequently used terms in Final Fantasy XI. (Basic)
  • Macro Guide - A basic/intermediate guide on creating macros. (Basic/Intermediate)
  • Quests Guide - A walkthrough of some of the basic quests found around the starting nations [Mainly San d'Orian based].
  • Missions Guide - A walkthrough of the rank 1-2 missions for San d’Oria [Possibly Windurst and Bastok too].
  • Areas Guide - A small description of the starting areas, with some information of party camps.

I’ll most likely add some more once I’ve finished off all of these, but until then I’ll just work on making some good guides for the basic stuff. Also, right now all of these guides will be put onto this domain, in the FFXI page.

No excuse..

December 18th, 2006

Christmas is coming up, and although I’ve been rather busy with various school related things, as well as playing Final Fantasy XI… too much, I haven’t really had the time to post anything on here.. So, here it is again along with all the other times I’ve said it, I’ll try to post some more stuff over the Christmas holiday. I’ll try get posts up about some games, like I said in my previous post, I’d like to do something for Phantasy Star Universe.

I’m also thinking on making a ‘beginners’ guide on some stuff for Final Fantasy XI, which I may put on the few month old, never started, never finished FFXI subdomain of mine, but then again, I might just put it as an extra on this blog to keep everything together. I’ll update on this later when I get more of an idea if I’ll have time to do something for this. I’ll be doing some revising over the holidays for my exams that start on the first week I get back, aswell as trying to enjoy some of the holiday of course, but I’d like to add a few things onto here. I’ll try post an update on what I think I can do either tomorrow, or Wednesday, when I break up for the holiday.

Real Beauty..

October 25th, 2006

(If you think this topic is too feminine please realise I am a girl and can’t help it!!)

Hey, I’m just writing to direct people to a campaign site, about “real beauty”. It’s about real women being really beautiful!! Including you!! (If you’re a man you’re gorgeous, and still feel free to watch these clips). The first shows the process of modifying a photo to make the woman “more beautiful” but this “more beautiful” picture is a distortion of the woman’s real beauty. The second clip shows how the media’s image of “real beauty” can effect young girls and make them feel inadequate.

In due time..

October 15th, 2006

Sorry about the lack of updates, I really have nothing to write about.. That, and all my coursework is all coming to be due in at the same time, so I’m having some trouble in getting it all done for the deadlines. Other than that, I’ll try find something interesting to post about, maybe the Battlefield 2142 Demo. I’ll try to post something within the next few days, if anything interesting comes up.

Also, since half term is coming up for me (two weeks this year, yay!) I’m planning on making a more colourful layout, and some more content since as you’ve probably noticed, the recent layouts have been rather simply and minimalistic, and the content is still rather dry and boring. I’m working on it!

Speech Night

September 23rd, 2006

Schools Awards evenings, relevant or pointless??
Last thursday our school held the annual event which usually consists in 1000 bored students and 100 tired-looking parents and 100 exasperated teachers cramming into a hall to be lulled to sleep by half a dozen excited looking guests and the deputy headmaster.

This year was no different… We had hot weather (how??!) which meant that everyone was sweaty and thirsty before we even began… we had a musical interlude which wasnt musical at all and i doubt anybody there will remember the name of our guest, let alone what he said!

If you agree that Awards Nights should be scrapped in favour of going home leave a comment!!

The Questioner

September 16th, 2006

I came across The Quick & Painless ENNEAGRAM Test” and decided to give it a go. It says that “ With only TWO questions it can tell you who you are!” And its scarily accurate too. Anyway, here are my results:

“The Questioner”

“You chose CY - your Enneagram type is SIX.”

Questioners are responsible, trustworthy, and value loyalty to family, friends, groups, and causes. Their personalities range broadly from reserved and timid to outspoken and confrontative.

How to Get Along with Me

  • Be direct and clear.
  • Listen to me carefully.
  • Don’t judge me for my anxiety.
  • Work things through with me.
  • Reassure me that everything is OK between us.
  • Laugh and make jokes with me.
  • Gently push me toward new experiences.
  • Try not to overreact to my overreacting.

What I Like About Being a Six

  • being committed and faithful to family and friends
  • being responsible and hardworking
  • being compassionate toward others
  • having intellect and wit
  • being a nonconformist
  • confronting danger bravely
  • being direct and assertive

What’s Hard About Being a Six

  • the constant push and pull involved in trying to make up my mind
  • procrastinating because of fear of failure; having little confidence in myself
  • fearing being abandoned or taken advantage of
  • exhausting myself by worrying and scanning for danger
  • wishing I had a rule book at work so I could do everything right
  • being too critical of myself when I haven’t lived up to my expectations

Sixes as Children Often

  • are friendly, likable, and dependable, and/or sarcastic, bossy, and stubborn
  • are anxious and hypervigilant; anticipate danger
  • form a team of “us against them” with a best friend or parent
  • look to groups or authorities to protect them and/or question authority and rebel
  • are neglected or abused, come from unpredictable or alcoholic families, and/or take on the fearfulness of an overly anxious parent

Sixes as Parents

  • are often loving, nurturing, and have a strong sense of duty
  • are sometimes reluctant to give their children independence
  • worry more than most that their children will get hurt
  • sometimes have trouble saying no and setting boundaries

I guess that the people who know me will find it a little hard putting these result towards me, but thats only because I don’t really reveal myself a lot, to anyone. I can tell you that these results, from me reading them, are pretty accurate.

Yamada Hikaru Network ²

September 16th, 2006

Hey again. I’ve made some changes to the site, and there are a few more to come. The most noticable change is the new theme, which I have named ‘Yamada Hikaru Network ²’. I’ll most likely be keeping with this theme for a while, so I can work on more content. I’m also sorting things out so I can try and get a range on different content on the site. Keep checking back for more.

Back

July 1st, 2006

I know it has been a while since I did anything here, since the last post was in April, I thought I should actually get down on doing something to the site. As you will of noticed, we are back to the Wordpress default theme until I sort out otherwise. Sometime I’ll make my own theme, as a said long long ago, but not right now. I’ll be introducting a few new things in the next few days, which I’ve been planning for some time. So, expect some new stuff to be on shortly.

In other news, I just finished my work experience and will be back at school on monday, and then finishing for the summer holidays on thursday. I’ll be on holiday in Florida for the first two weeks of the holiday, so I doubt any changes to the site will happen for some time after I go. I’ll try get as many things done before I go, so the site gets a little more interesting to visit, and hopefully get a few more visitors when I get back.

Downtime

April 12th, 2006

There seems to be a problem with the old theme of the site, so I’m going to have to use the Wordpress Default until I finish my own. Sorry about the downtime, I was trying to find out what had gone wrong. I’ll try getting some stuff done.

End of Term coming up

March 30th, 2006

With the end of my school term coming up, I’ll be starting with my three week holiday, which I will, or will try my hardest to post and add to this site as much as I can. Sorry for the lack of updates, and the really really late extras, but I’ll sort it all out soon.

And also, during the holidays, and after the holidays, I’ll try my best to start using this as more of a personal blog.
